The time we have been waiting for has finally arrived! Following several risk assessments which have been successfully carried out, I am pleased to inform you that we will be re-opening the bar on Saturday. As you would expect there are new rules and regulations which we must adhere to. Please remember that these are in place to protect you and our staff. We will have new opening times until further notice for the bar. These must be strictly adhered to. The opening times are as follows: Monday Closed Tuesday 12pm - 8pm Wednesday 12pm - 8pm Thursday Closed Friday 12pm - 8pm Saturday 12pm - 8pm Sunday 12pm - 5pm These will be regularly reviewed and as further measures are announced (easing or reintroduction of lockdown) we will take appropriate action and adjust times accordingly. We reserve the right to close the bar or stop the buggy service early in the event of bad weather/golf course being quiet and therefore not financially viable to remain open. Following the risk assessments, we have decided that it is not viable to provide a catering facility in the Clubhouse or from the Halfway House at this stage. Food will continue to be provided via the Golf Buggy "takeaway" service out on the course. The buggy operating times will be as follows: Monday 9.30am - 3pm Tuesday 12pm - 6pm Wednesday 9.30am - 3pm Thursday 9.30am - 3pm Friday 9.30am - 3pm Saturday 9.30am - 3pm Sunday 9.30am - 3pm Coffee. It is my intention that when the bar isn't open (before 12pm or days when the bar is closed) we can open up a "walkway" from the patio to the coffee machine to enable customers to get hot drinks. This would work on a one in one out basis. It is our intention to open safely on Saturday 4th July 2020. Following guidance from the Government and England Golf we will be endeavouring wherever possible to keep as many people outside at all times. Only in the event of poor weather, we will open up the Clubhouse bar and restaurant areas for drinks. We, therefore, have in place two procedures regarding ordering.
Procedure for serving outdoors When we have good weather, we will have customers on the patio and areas surrounding the putting green accordingly. The procedure for ordering is as follows: * Members/Guests will approach the table located at the door to the patio area. "Waiting" lines will be on the ground at 2-metre intervals. The customer will inform the staff of their order and the drinks will then be provided on a tray and placed on the table to enable the staff member to step away to a safe distance. [Reopening RA 1]
* Payment is made with bar card account and/or contactless payment when required. The customer then takes his/her tray to their table. We would request that only one person from each playing group approaches the table. * Once the customer has finished their drinks we request that they return the empty glasses/plastic on the tray and place on the table only if it is safe to do so. * A maximum of two people on a bench at any time.
Procedure for serving indoors In the event of poor/inclement weather, we will open up the bar and restaurant facility for use. * In line with Government regulations we will not allow more than 30 people inside (including staff) at any one time. * The furniture has been repositioned to allow social distancing and we are taking advantage of the large space in the dining area. * The customers will approach the serving hatch and will be allocated a table, which will be numbered. The staff will then carry out table service along with contactless ways to pay as above. * We do have stocks of PPE for the staff. The Government guidance states that we should not encourage the precautionary use of extra PPE and risk assessment should reflect the limited role such equipment will play. * I have checked with the brewery/BII and it is not necessary for customers to wear masks inside unless they wish to do so. * Once customers leave a table then this area must be fully cleaned before it can be used again. This includes tables, chairs and glasses/plastic tumblers. * If we allow customers inside then staff must make a note of names, times and contact details in the bar/restaurant. If anyone was to report symptoms then we are required to contact all other customers that were in the premises at the same time to alert them. These records must be kept for 21 days and then destroyed in line with GDPR regulations. * Left hand side of bar (snooker room side) to be kept closed. * Hand sanitiser will be placed on tables inside the Clubhouse.
New cleaning regimes will be introduced for both indoor and outdoor serving. Once we re-open only drinks and food purchased on the premises/golf course from SVGC or the Pro Shop may be consumed. |
