Club Championship 2020
What a fantastic finish to a great weekend of golf. With over 60 players competing on both days scoring was tough, especially round 1. Martin Farbrace, a numerous time club champion posted a very solid 72 gross in round one leading the way by just two shots from Andrew Asling and Steve Eggleston. The second round saw some exceptional scoring especially from the final two groups. Young scratch handicapper Miles Gray put Martin under pressure with a second round 2 under par 69. With Martin holding his nerve and finishing his round with eight straight pars and scoring a level par 71 it was the favouirte for the competiton who came out on top. Becoming both Scratch and Handicap champion for 2020. |
Gross:
1st - Farbrace, Martin 72 +71 = 143
2nd - Gray, Miles 75 + 69 = 144
3rd - Forsyth-Asling, Andrew 74 + 79 = 153 Nett: 1st - Farbrace, Martin 71 + 70 = 141

Scully rescued
Over recent weeks the small fox that lives around the 5th, 6th and 7th holes has been in a poor state of health and despite many kind members feeding the fox, it was thought best to request additional expert advice and help. On Sunday afternoon the fox was collected by a registered charity, The Fox Project, and has been taken to their sanctuary in Tunbridge Wells. The fox (now known as Scully) has settled in well and has already started her rehabilitation. We will keep you posted on progress on the noticeboards. Sandra and the staff at Fox Project would like to thank all those members who fed and assisted Scully and kept her going during the last few weeks. If anyone would like to donate to the charity then you can do so at the website or link below.
