Following the Prime Minister's statement on Monday, we will be able to resume in Golf in England on Wednesday, 2nd December 2020 and we will be reopening the course on Wednesday morning accordingly. As best we know all formats i.e. 2, 3 and 4 balls can be played (apologies but no one balls for the moment). If the tier we are placed in alters that we will inform you immediately. The rules below are in place for the first two weeks of re-opening. We will constantly review the rules and make changes as required. We must continue to remain vigilant about social distancing before, during and after our rounds. To that end, the following procedures have been put in place in accordance with guidelines issued to all Clubs by England Golf. These rules have been formally adopted by the Club and are conditions of membership that we expect all members to comply with. As the government and EGU modify guidance over the coming days and weeks, we will continue to review these rules and will keep members informed of any changes. All of the on-course restrictions are still current and must be adhered to. Who can play? * Groups may consist of 2, 3 or4 balls. With the lighter evenings now gone we would ask that you ensure good pace of play to enable as many members to complete their rounds as possible. * No guests or visitors will be allowed for the first two weeks of re-opening. This will be reviewed mid-December. Booking rules - the following rules are designed to ensure that all members have an equal chance to access the course during a period when demand will be high. * Members must pre-book a tee time by telephone to the Pro shop on 01303 262550 or 01303 268513 (option 4). NO other way of booking is possible. * Booking will be available in the above manner from 8am on Monday 30th November. * You must provide the names of your entire group playing at time of booking. * You may book up to 7 day in advance ... However - * Each member may only have one tee time in the system. Multiple bookings will not be allowed. Your next game can be booked only once your current game is complete. * Competitions will continue and competition bookings do not count as your "one" tee time in the system. * To avoid congestion due to crossing, play will start from the 1st tee only (except between 8am and 9am for those wishing to play only 9 holes, starting from 10th). * No cutting over to other holes will be allowed without permission from the course marshals, even if the course looks clear. * The Professional shop staff have the final say on bookings and will be tasked to ensure that all members have fair access. As such you may find on occasions that your group will be expanded to accommodate other members. * Tee times will be spaced 8 minutes apart. * "Roll-up's" and "Swindles" will not be permitted at this time. Before your round * Golfers must arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your allocated tee time. * You must "sign in" at the Professional Shop on your arrival. * Please continue to adhere to the Government guidelines of social distancing. On the Course * An area will be marked near the 1st and 10th tees for the next person group to play. * You must not touch the flagstick, ball washers, bins or benches. * You must not join up with the group in front, or behind you. * You must not shake hands or swap score cards. * Do not touch any stray golf balls you may find. * The Professional staff and Club management will be marshalling the course and are empowered to demand anyone who has not checked in with the pro shop to leave the course immediately. Failure to do so would be reported to the Council. * While use of personal buggies and trolleys is permitted (subject to Course condition), there will be no buggies or trolleys for hire from the proshop. Buggies should only be used by the owner, and nobody outside of their family group may ride in the buggy.
The Clubhouse At this stage we are still unsure what "tier" our area we will be entered into. This will affect Clubhouse services and offerings. We will therefore communicate later in the week regarding our Clubhouse opening. At this stage though we can advise: * The Pro shop will be open and the locker room will be open to collect and leave clubs. Toilets and sinks will be open. Golf shoes should be put on in the car park whenever possible. * We ask that no more than two people are in the changing rooms at any one time and you adhere to the normal social distancing guidelines. As such you should be "in and out" as quickly as is possible. * Hand sanitisers will be provided for your use. The Halfway House * The Halfway House will be open from Wednesday 2nd December and we will advise opening days and times in a separate email. The on-course buggy selling drinks and food will now cease until further notice. We ask the all our members adhere to these Covid-19 rules and abide by the Government recommended social distancing guidelines at all times. Breaches could result in the Golf Club being closed and fined and we fully expect local Government checks to be taking place in the coming weeks. Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Club. |
