We love hearing all about the latest golf irons that are coming out and will soon be on the shelves and ready to have a go with. We’ve been speaking with Cobra for a while now, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to spill the beans on their new Darkspeed irons!

We appreciate that there is a lot of jargon and strange words that crop up when you’re researching golf clubs, so today we want to simplify some of these terms and give you an understanding of how they help the performance of your golf iron.

Simply put: will the Cobra Darkspeed iron help your game?

Cobra's H.O.T Face

When you pick a Darkspeed iron up and give it a look over, you’ll notice how sleek and reassuring the silver chrome design is. On the face you’ll fid intricate grooves as well as Cobra having labelled it their H.O.T. face. This is a phenomenal bit of tech that allows for a larger sweet spot in the centre of the surface. You’ll also more efficient speed and spin on your strikes. This is the kind of iron you’ll really notice how good it feels when you strike it true.

A hollow body construction

Cobra has given this club a hollow body construction that helps weight distribution, so that mass is better shifted to where it will be more effective. An internal hollow cavity is filled with a soft polymer that dampens vibrations, giving you a much better feel when you strike the ball. There’s also Cobra’s PWRSHELL insert inside the head that allows for a more robust launch. So overall the tech in the head helps your strikes feel better, look better, and fly further.

Forgiving weighting

As we’ve mentioned already, the weight in the club has been efficiently redistributed to give you a better performance. The PWR-BRIDGE weight is suspended on a single internal post to encourage more face flexing when the club meets the ball. You’ll get lost of speed and power on your strikes whether you’re teeing off or playing from the fairway.

Now that we’ve taken a look at how the tech in the clubs will help you gain the edge when you’re out on the golf course, we’d like to take a closer look at all the irons available in the range.

As we’ve thoroughly covered above, the Darkspeed irons are packed with tech, feel great in your hands, and will have you swiftly chasing down your golfing goals in style. Not every golf club feels as good as it looks, but the Darkspeed clubs are a real winner.

The Cobra irons also come in a Darkspeed One-length variation. In this set, every iron is the same length as the standard 7 iron. This will be hugely beneficial for golfers that want to feel the same setup each time they approach the ball. By keeping things simple, you’ll feel a lot more control over your game!

We’ve mentioned them here and there already, and we’d like to leave you by reminding you of all the great things about the Aerojet iron. As the name implies, this iron cuts through the air with aerodynamic precision. Featuring Cobra’s H.O.T face and PWRSHELL tech, this iron feels great and offers an impressive performance time and again. Not unlike the Darkspeed, there is similarly an Aerojet One-length variation available too.

If you’re thinking of adding new golf irons to your bag ahead of the golfing season, we’d be more than happy to walk you through what we have in stock in the pro shop.
